Dionne Farris 

 

Dionne Farris is a powerhouse, Grammy Winning vocalist, no questions asked. Dionne Yvette is an American singer-songwriter, producer, and actor born in the land of the funk, Plainfield, New Jersey. Dionne’s soaring vocal propelled the song “Tennessee” by 90's hip-hop sensation Arrested Development into a smash hit. Farris is well known for her critically acclaimed genre-bending debut, Wild Seed - Wild Flower, that ushered in a new field of play for the music industry and yielded the top 5 Grammy Nominated hit “I Know”. The beloved movie opener "Hopeless" from the Love Jones soundtrack was her return to the charts. Named as one of the years Top 10 soul albums by Creative Loafing Atlanta, Signs of Life was released in 2011. Dionne would let no more grass grow under her feet by following up with a mixtape in 2012 entitled, Lady Dy the Mixtape Pt.1. It’s described as a collection of raw textures and colors, in sounds, beats and lyrics produced with longtime collaborator, rapper-musician, Count Bass D. After performing and recording pop, hip-hop, soul, gospel, and modern R&B she has now added jazz to her repertoire. 

Cheryl Cooley - Of Klymaxx

 

Cheryl Cooley, original member & guitarist of KLYMAXX, the all female R&B/Pop band of the mid & Late eighties that brought you songs such as "Meeting in the Ladies Room", "The Men All Pause" and "I Miss You".

Klymaxx, an all female band was created and founded by the band's drummer and quirky diseuse Bernadette Cooper. Cooper after college created an all girl band. She also created the name 'Klymaxx'. Their sound was influential because of its comedic, women power theme. Klymaxx's original members are (vocalist, drummer, founder) Bernadette Cooper, (vocalist) Lorena Porter (Stewart), (guitarist) Cheryl Cooley, (keyboardists ) Lynn Malsby, (keyboardists) Robbin Grider and later after the band signed to  Solar  records (bassist/ vocalist) Joyce Irby, was added to the band . In 1981, Klymaxx were signed to Solar Records by Dick Griffey. Their debut album was entitled Never Underestimate The Power Of A Woman. Upon beginning work on their second album. Klymaxx became one of the first acts to work with writers/producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis of The Time. The team wrote and produced many songs including the song "Wild Girls" for that second album, entitled Girls Will Be Girls. Klymaxx, remains the only female self contained R&B/Pop Band to achieve platinum status.


 

Bunny Sigler
 

Grammy award winning international singer, songwriter, producer; Patti LaBelle, Lou Rawls, Instant Funk, The O'Jays, etc. Co-wrote the 5 times platinum, Grammy award winning, Billboard smash hit "Dilemma" performed by Nelly. Sampled on Jay-Z's Blueprint I and Blueprint II albums, Outkast's Speakerboxx/The Love Below, 50 Cent's The Massacre, Mary J. Blige's The Breakthrough and Notorious B.I.G.'s The Final Chapter.With the Philly soul sound so hot, Sigler got a chance to work with a number of acts as a writer and/or producer, including the Whispers, Ecstacy, Passion And Pain and Carl Carlton. He cut tracks for artists on Curtis Mayfield's Curtom label, including Mayfield himself ("Trippin' Out"), and made a duet album with Barbara Mason. In 1976, Sigler got Instant Funk an album deal with Gamble Huff's TSOP label. 
A year later Bunny recorded an album for Curtom, "Locked In This Position".
Creating serveral hits over the span of his career that today's generation keep sampling , 
Bunny continues to write, produce and Record new material. He is the co-writer of the song, 
The Ruler's Back which was an opening song for the Jay Z's album, "Blueprint".
He has a brand new TV show coming out called "Bunny and Friends"
and  a brand new CD as well. At 70 years old "there ain't no stopping us now" claims "Sigler"...
Lets face it !! They don't build them like this anymore and Bunny Sigler is the "Real Deal"
